Light Up the Night: The First Ever Glow Green Chester!
After five years of incredible nights in Liverpool, Clatterbridge Cancer Charity is bringing its flagship Glow Green Night Walk to the historic streets of Chester for the very first time!

Proudly sponsored by ETC, this is your chance to see the city’s heritage in a whole new light. On Friday 27th February, join a sea of green as we march through the city centre to mark World Cancer Day and support local cancer patients.

What’s Included in Your £20 Registration?
We’ve made sure your registration fee gives you everything you need to glow:

👕 Official Glow Green T-Shirt: Wear your green with pride alongside hundreds of others.

🏅 Commemorative Finisher’s Medal: A high-quality keepsake to mark your achievement.

🏮 Lantern for Reflection: A special lantern to carry and display during our moment of remembrance.

🎶 Live Entertainment: High-energy performances at Chester Racecourse to get the party started.

🏙️ The “Glow” Experience: See iconic landmarks like the Eastgate Clock and Chester Cathedral lit up green just for us!

The Itinerary6:00 PM: The fun begins at Chester Racecourse with live music and entertainment.

7:30 PM: The walk officially sets off!

We’ll take in the Queen’s Park Suspension Bridge, Eastgate Clock, Chester Cathedral, and Chester Town Hall.

We will pause at the Roman Gardens for a poignant lantern display to honor those affected by cancer (with a huge thank you to DJH Chester City for supporting this moment).

What you need to know

The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity's Glow Green Night Walk will take place on Friday 27th February.

Glow Green will start at the Chester Racecourse in Chester!

The walk will go past iconic buildings including the Queen's Park Suspension Bridge, Chester Roman Amphitheatre, Eastgate Clock, Townhall, The Roman Gardens, Chester Cathedral and more...

You will be able to come and collect your Glow Green T-Shirt, walker numbers, sponsor forms and message cards. The dates for your collection days will be confirmed in the next couple of weeks. You can also collect for other members of your team as long as you have their ticket.

As with all Charity events it's vitally important that we look to raise as much as we can for our cause, and Glow Green is no different!

The Registration Fee for the event is £20 and we ask that each participant fundraises a minimum of £50, or alternatively if you do not wish to fundraise we offer you the chance at registration to make a £50 donation per person then instead!

Registration fees help the Charity to cover the cost of staging the event, and the fundraising helps us to provide outstanding facilities and care to those who need The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre in our region.

We are selling a wide range of neon merchandise in our signature shade of green for you to shine and brighten up Liverpool during your walk!

These will be available to purchase on the day only. We did previously sell online however we have now made an adjustment and will only be selling on the night from this point forward.

If you have already purchased your Neon Merchandise, do not worry as we will be in touch regarding how you will receive this.

Please note that to activate your neon merchandise all you need to do is snap and shake your glow sticks. After that, they will last for up to 8 hours - so plenty of time to 'glow off' with your family and friends!

We will be highlighting for you exactly what we have available for you to buy ahead of the event date.

Walkers will also have the opportunity to pause and reflect, as hundreds of lanterns will light up The Roman Garden, each representing someone special.

We know how important it is to think of someone close to you, and whether you are taking part to support your loved ones or you are walking in memory of someone special our Celebration of Life Lanterns are the perfect way to celebrate and remember those who've been touched by The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre.

Our Lanterns can be personalised with your own message of hope, love and support for those close to you and can be purchased in advance of Glow Green, or on the night and are priced at £5.

Once you have purchased your Celebration Lantern, we will deliver them to the Roman Garden, where you are free to take a moment with your family and friends and remember someone special in your lives.

Why We Need Your Help

By taking on this event you are helping us to deliver pioneering cancer care to patients throughout our region. 1 in 2 of us will be affected by cancer, but with your help we can be at the forefront of cancer treatments, and we can fund vital research, the latest therapies, and innovations in cancer treatment.

We are so often told that The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre is unlike any other hospital. The Charity has funded a range of projects which help to to make Clatterbridge a place that stays in people’s hearts, including bringing cancer treatment closer to patients’ homes and breaking boundaries by becoming the first in the UK to offer a number of treatments.

The Clatterbridge Fairy was specially created by our Charity Patron, internationally acclaimed sculptor, Emma Rodgers.

We asked Emma to share why she's supporting our Fairy Appeal:
"I have been a Patron of Clatterbridge Cancer Charity for 14 years now, as my mum is cared for there. They are incredible with her and getting the 'all clear' was a wonderful moment. They've done more for me than I can ever do for them, so creating the Fairy seems a small thing, really.

And this year I will be dedicating my Fairy to Professor Myint and the Team at Clatterbridge love from Emma, Milly, Annie and family."
