As 2024 came to a close, Clatterbridge Cancer Charity hosted a memorable Christmas Celebration at the historic Eaton Chapel on the Duke of Westminster’s Eaton Estate, near Chester.
The festive evening was a joyous occasion for our supporters and fundraisers. Guests were treated to a performance by the renowned SingMe Merseyside Choir, led by Billy Hui, and a spine-tingling solo by the critically acclaimed mezzo-soprano Kathryn Rudge. Actor Celyn Jones captivated the audience with a reading of A Visit from St Nicholas, and the event was elegantly hosted by broadcaster Angela Samata.
Professor Philip Wilson, Trustee of Clatterbridge Cancer Charity, highlighted the charity’s vital work in funding research and enhancing patient care. A particularly moving moment came when patient Luke Thomas shared his experience of treatment in the Teenage and Young Person Unit at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre, earning a heartfelt round of applause.
The celebration concluded with everyone joining in to sing the festive favorite Walking in a Winter Wonderland. Generous raffle prizes were donated by Paul Askew and The Art School, The Ivy Liverpool, and Aztezzan, Chester.
We were also honored to have world-renowned artist and Clatterbridge Cancer Charity patron Emma Rodgers design unique Christmas decorations, ceramics, and prints for the evening, helping to raise funds through the Fairy Appeal.
Katrina Bury, Chief Executive of Clatterbridge Cancer Charity, expressed our gratitude: “We would like to thank the Duke and Duchess of Westminster for allowing us to host this very special event in the wonderful surroundings of Eaton Chapel. We are also very grateful to Emma Rodgers for her support and fantastic work for the event, as well as all those who donated raffle prizes. It was a wonderful way to end the year.”
We are deeply thankful for the continued support of our community, which enables us to provide exceptional care and support to our patients and their families.
