Peter Lamb

Hello, my name is Peter Lamb, and I am fundraising for Clatterbridge Cancer Charity to celebrate the life of my dad, Phil. This July, I will be taking part in the Liverpool Cathedral Abseil alongside our family friend, Rachel Cooper.

Clatterbridge Cancer Charity Supporter: Peter Lamb

My dad participated in the same abseil in 2023 after completing a course of chemotherapy for oesophageal cancer, with Rachel by his side. Sadly, in 2024, his cancer returned, and we lost him shortly after his 51st birthday.

Dad had an incredible sense of humour and always saw the funny side of life. He introduced me to many TV shows that matched his comedic taste, especially those starring Rik Mayall. His life motto was, “What’s the point in life if you can’t have fun doing it?” He also had a deep love for rock music. We attended the Green Day, Weezer, and Fall Out Boy tour in 2022, which he absolutely loved. One of his favourite bands was Status Quo. Before he passed away, Dad made it clear that he didn’t want people crying and mourning him; he wanted laughter and happiness. That’s the kind of person he was, and that’s why I want to do the abseil in his memory.

I live in Netherton with my mum, Claire, and I am currently studying film at Liverpool John Moores University. My goal is to work behind the camera after I graduate.

I hope to raise a significant amount of money for Clatterbridge Cancer Charity through this abseil, as we deeply appreciate everything they do. I encourage others to get involved and support this wonderful cause.

You can do the Liverpool Cathedral Abseil on 12th July from 1pm. Entry costs £10 per person and participants are asked to fundraise £150. Find out more about the event and how to take part here.

Emma Rodgers

The Clatterbridge Fairy was specially created by our Charity Patron, internationally acclaimed sculptor, Emma Rodgers.

We asked Emma to share why she's supporting our Fairy Appeal:
"I have been a Patron of Clatterbridge Cancer Charity for 14 years now, as my mum is cared for there. They are incredible with her and getting the 'all clear' was a wonderful moment. They've done more for me than I can ever do for them, so creating the Fairy seems a small thing, really.

And this year I will be dedicating my Fairy to Professor Myint and the Team at Clatterbridge love from Emma, Milly, Annie and family."
