Back To The 80s Clatterbridge Ball Raises £188,000!

Last Friday, we hosted an unforgettable evening at the Titanic Hotel in Liverpool, raising an incredible £188,000 at our annual Back To The 80s Ball!

This spectacular event significantly supports patients across Merseyside, Cheshire, the Isle Of Man and beyond – particularly funding research into new treatments for metastatic breast cancer.

The night was a vibrant celebration of the 1980s, with guests enjoying a nostalgic trip back in time.

The event was hosted by 80s icon Cheryl Baker of Bucks Fizz fame, and featured appearances from notable personalities such as Liverpool Football Club legend Sir Kenny Dalglish and his wife Marina Dalglish, acclaimed restaurateur and TV personality Nisha Katona MBE, photographer and performing artsist Mike McCartney, and local radio nand TV personality Pete Price. The atmosphere was electric, filled with excitement and generosity.

Charity Chair Brian Barwick OBE welcomed guests, who enjoyed a 3-course meal while Cheryl Baker kept the energy high and the donations flowing! The evening offered numerous ways to support Clatterbridge Cancer Charity, including a Boodles prize giveaway, a luxury Tombola, a silent auction and a live auction hosted by professional auctioneer Jonny Gould.

The event was kindly supported by headline sponsor CDW, along with The Johnson Foundation, Panoramic 34, A&B Engineering, and Slater & Gordon.

Katrina Bury, Chief Executive of Clatterbridge Cancer Charity, expressed her gratitude: “The ball is the most prestigious event in our calendar and this one really was wonderful. A huge thank you to all those who attended, donated and sponsored. We are delighted to have raised such an incredible amount for local people with cancer. A special mention must also go to our Ball Committee, who have been extremely generous with their time and efforts to make this event such a success.”

Emma Rodgers

The Clatterbridge Fairy was specially created by our Charity Patron, internationally acclaimed sculptor, Emma Rodgers.

We asked Emma to share why she's supporting our Fairy Appeal:
"I have been a Patron of Clatterbridge Cancer Charity for 14 years now, as my mum is cared for there. They are incredible with her and getting the 'all clear' was a wonderful moment. They've done more for me than I can ever do for them, so creating the Fairy seems a small thing, really.

And this year I will be dedicating my Fairy to Professor Myint and the Team at Clatterbridge love from Emma, Milly, Annie and family."
