Glow Green Night Walk 2027: Light Up Liverpool!

Get ready to glow. The Glow Green Night Walk returns in 2027, and this year we’re lighting up two cities on two unforgettable nights!

This February, the streets of Liverpool will turn green as hundreds of walkers come together in support of Clatterbridge Cancer Charity. Whether you’re walking in memory of someone you love, marking a personal milestone, or simply want to stand with local people affected by cancer, this is your night to shine.

📍 Glow Green Night Walk – Liverpool: Friday 12 February 2027

When you sign up for the Glow Green Night Walk, you are not just taking part in an event. You are helping to fund better cancer care for people in your own community.

Sign up early and claim your free lantern, dedicated to someone special: a loved one, a member of staff, or a personal hero. It’s one of the most moving parts of the night, hundreds of small lights carrying hundreds of personal stories.

Glow Green Night Walk has raised over £1,000,000 for cancer care and support across Merseyside and Cheshire since it began in 2022. Walk solo, with friends, with family, or with colleagues. However you take part, you’ll be helping fund vital cancer care, celebrate research breakthroughs, and thank the staff who care for patients every single day.

What you need to know

The Liverpool walk takes place on Friday 12 February 2027.

The walk starts at the Museum of Liverpool on the Pier Head. This is also where the event village will be!

The Glow Green Night Walk is an evening route through the heart of Liverpool City Centre, taking in glowing landmarks along the way. The Liverpool walk is approx. 8km.

Everyone is welcome. Whether you are walking in memory of a loved one, marking a personal milestone, or simply want to show your support, there is a place for you at the Glow Green Night Walk.

Please check back for age guidance, or contact us directly if you are planning to bring younger family members along.

Registration costs £20 and we kindly ask that our supporters raise a minimum of £50 per person.

Every penny raised helps fund vital cancer care, research, and support for people across Merseyside and Cheshire.

Walkers will receive a Glow Green Night Walk T-Shirt and those who register early will receive a free lantern to dedicate to someone special, a loved one, a member of staff, or a personal hero. This is one of the most moving parts of the evening.

Comfortable walking shoes and warm layers are recommended, as both walks take place in the evening during February and March. Many walkers also enjoy dressing in anything bright and green!

We want as many people as possible to take part. Please get in touch with our fundraising team in advance if you have any accessibility requirements, so we can help make sure your evening runs smoothly.

Absolutely. You can take part solo, with friends, family, or colleagues. Many workplaces and community groups also join together as teams to raise funds and support each other on the night.

For fundraising, you are encouraged to set up one JustGiving page for your group, for you all to share and contribute towards.

Why We Need Your Help

By taking on this event you are helping us to deliver pioneering cancer care to patients throughout our region. 1 in 2 of us will be affected by cancer, but with your help we can be at the forefront of cancer treatments, and we can fund vital research, the latest therapies, and innovations in cancer treatment.

We are so often told that The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre is unlike any other hospital. The Charity has funded a range of projects which help to to make Clatterbridge a place that stays in people’s hearts, including bringing cancer treatment closer to patients’ homes and breaking boundaries by becoming the first in the UK to offer a number of treatments.

The Clatterbridge Fairy was specially created by our Charity Patron, internationally acclaimed sculptor, Emma Rodgers.

We asked Emma to share why she's supporting our Fairy Appeal:
"I have been a Patron of Clatterbridge Cancer Charity for 14 years now, as my mum is cared for there. They are incredible with her and getting the 'all clear' was a wonderful moment. They've done more for me than I can ever do for them, so creating the Fairy seems a small thing, really.

And this year I will be dedicating my Fairy to Professor Myint and the Team at Clatterbridge love from Emma, Milly, Annie and family."
