Facebook Birthday Fundraisers

Facebook birthday fundraisers are a quick and simple way to make a difference. Inspire your friends and family to support the life-saving work of Clatterbridge Cancer Charity by sharing your special day with us.

The Facebook Fundraisers tool lets you create your own fundraising page on the social media site, with 100% of the donations going to your chosen charity. It couldn’t be easier. Posting a Facebook Fundraiser to your timeline lets people know what matters to you – and it doesn’t have to be instead of cake and cards!

How your birthday gift donation to charity can help save lives

Birthday donations to charity play an important role in supporting the crucial work of The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre. With your help, we are doing incredible things for the one in two people affected by cancer across our region.

Your money is allowing us to fund research that will shape cancer care for generations to come. For example, it is enabling us to develop new types of cancer drugs, including cancer vaccines.

With you by our side, we are innovating patient care too. Whether it is providing massage guns to patients experiencing pain or making special entertainment systems available to people who can’t sit up, we are going the extra mile for every patient, every day.

None of this would be possible without people like you. So, make your birthday even more special and meaningful this year by setting up a Facebook fundraiser.

Example fundraiser description:
For my birthday this year, I’m asking for donations to Clatterbridge Cancer Charity. I’ve chosen Clatterbridge because the charity means a lot to me, and I hope that you’ll consider contributing as a way of celebrating with me. Every little bit will help me reach my goal. Here is some information about the charity:

Clatterbridge Cancer Charity is the only charity dedicated to supporting patients, staff and research at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre. There are more than 100,000 cancer patients across Merseyside and Cheshire, and Clatterbridge provides specialist treatment to many of these people through its unique care network across the region. Thanks to our supporters, we achieve so much that would not be possible solely through NHS funding. The money we raise funds investments in cutting-edge technology, pioneering research, innovations in care and enhancements to the patient environment. Together we are making a real difference to the lives of those who need us.

Facebook takes care of the donation processing with no fees.

Other ways to get involved

As well as fundraising through Facebook, there are other ways to support our work. For example, you can take part in our fundraising events or become a volunteer.

Emma Rodgers

The Clatterbridge Fairy was specially created by our Charity Patron, internationally acclaimed sculptor, Emma Rodgers.

We asked Emma to share why she's supporting our Fairy Appeal:
"I have been a Patron of Clatterbridge Cancer Charity for 14 years now, as my mum is cared for there. They are incredible with her and getting the 'all clear' was a wonderful moment. They've done more for me than I can ever do for them, so creating the Fairy seems a small thing, really.

And this year I will be dedicating my Fairy to Professor Myint and the Team at Clatterbridge love from Emma, Milly, Annie and family."
