Join Team Clatterbridge at the UK’s biggest open water swimming event.!

The Arla Great North Swim will take place between Friday 12th to Sunday 14th June 2026 at Lake Windermere. Choose from six different open water swimming distances to suit all ages, abilities, and level of experience:

SWIM250: £19 entry, 1/2 Mile: £39 entry, 1 Mile: £44 entry, 2 Mile: £56 entry, 5K: £64 entry, 10K: £98 entry

We ask that you raise a minimum of £200 to support the incredible work and vital cancer research at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre.

The Arla Great North Swim is a  weekend-long celebration of open water swimming. Expect stunning scenery, the best of local food and drink, outdoor activities, culture, art, history and thousands of like-minded people coming together. Think of it more as an open water adventure than a race.

Why We Need Your Help

By taking on this event you are helping us to deliver pioneering cancer care to patients throughout our region. 1 in 2 of us will be affected by cancer, but with your help we can be at the forefront of cancer treatments, and we can fund vital research, the latest therapies, and innovations in cancer treatment.

We are so often told that The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre is unlike any other hospital. The Charity has funded a range of projects which help to to make Clatterbridge a place that stays in people’s hearts, including bringing cancer treatment closer to patients’ homes and breaking boundaries by becoming the first in the UK to offer a number of treatments.

Emma Rodgers

The Clatterbridge Fairy was specially created by our Charity Patron, internationally acclaimed sculptor, Emma Rodgers.

We asked Emma to share why she's supporting our Fairy Appeal:
"I have been a Patron of Clatterbridge Cancer Charity for 14 years now, as my mum is cared for there. They are incredible with her and getting the 'all clear' was a wonderful moment. They've done more for me than I can ever do for them, so creating the Fairy seems a small thing, really.

And this year I will be dedicating my Fairy to Professor Myint and the Team at Clatterbridge love from Emma, Milly, Annie and family."
