What you need to know

The event village is at Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester and the event starts a short walk from there.

Getting around is simple with the city’s Metrolink system. There are 99 stops on the network with many close to the event start & finish line and along the race route.

Services operate on the line from 7am on the Sunday morning. Closer to the event we will provide the timings of the first tram for each line.

We recommend the following Tram Stops to get to the Start Area, and to depart from the Finish Area:

  • Imperial War Museum on the Trafford Centre (red) line – 15 min walk
  • Old Trafford, located on the Altrincham (purple/green) line - 3 Min Walk
  • Trafford Baron the Altrincham (purple/green) line – 10 min walk

Our Supporter Hub is the ultimate guide for supporting your loved ones on event day. You can find out about the best places to watch participants; get spectating tips and advice and you can also use our interactive Supporter Maps to plan your own route and see what each area on the route has to offer.

Why We Need Your Help

By taking on this event you are helping us to deliver pioneering cancer care to patients throughout our region. 1 in 2 of us will be affected by cancer, but with your help we can be at the forefront of cancer treatments, and we can fund vital research, the latest therapies, and innovations in cancer treatment.

We are so often told that The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre is unlike any other hospital. The Charity has funded a range of projects which help to to make Clatterbridge a place that stays in people’s hearts, including bringing cancer treatment closer to patients’ homes and breaking boundaries by becoming the first in the UK to offer a number of treatments.

Emma Rodgers

The Clatterbridge Fairy was specially created by our Charity Patron, internationally acclaimed sculptor, Emma Rodgers.

We asked Emma to share why she's supporting our Fairy Appeal:
"I have been a Patron of Clatterbridge Cancer Charity for 14 years now, as my mum is cared for there. They are incredible with her and getting the 'all clear' was a wonderful moment. They've done more for me than I can ever do for them, so creating the Fairy seems a small thing, really.

And this year I will be dedicating my Fairy to Professor Myint and the Team at Clatterbridge love from Emma, Milly, Annie and family."
