Set in the stunning, tree-lined paths of Sefton Park, the Liverpool Women’s 10K is so much more than a run in the park. It’s a celebration, and a joyful event that brings our community together in solidarity.
Back in the 1980’s running was a predominantly male activity with most sign-ups for the big two UK races, London Marathon and the Great North Run, being men. In an attempt to encourage more female runners to take on races, Glasgow and Dublin were having success by hosting women only races and not wanting to be left behind, Liverpool established theirs too. This led to a lot of female runners taking to Sefton Park to take part in the women 5K or 10K. Now that the running landscape has changed with many more female runners taking part, the Liverpool Women’s 10K has become a celebration of the Women of Liverpool and their determination. Take on the 5k or 10k to show your solidarity and raise funds for Clatterbridge Cancer Charity.
