Pedal through the Cheshire countryside to support local cancer care and vital cancer research

Bike Chester is a brilliant cycling event taking place on Sunday 23 August 2026, starting and finishing at Chester Rugby Club. With three route options to choose from — approximately 31, 47, or 82 miles — there’s a challenge suited to every level of cyclist, from casual riders to seasoned road cyclists.

The routes wind through quiet country lanes, gently rolling hills, and stretches of open farmland and woodland, all within the stunning Cheshire countryside. E-bikes are welcome, so there’s really no reason not to give it a go. Whether you’re riding solo, with friends, or as part of a team, Bike Chester is a fantastic opportunity to push yourself, enjoy a great day out, and make a real difference to people living with cancer across Cheshire and Merseyside.

Why ride for Clatterbridge Cancer Charity?

1 in 2 people are affected by cancer, and 13,000 new patients are referred to Clatterbridge Cancer Centre each year iconiccyclingevents from across Cheshire and Merseyside. Every mile you ride and every pound you raise goes towards funding life-saving cancer research, investing in leading technology, and improving care for the 35,000 patients treated at Clatterbridge Cancer Centre each year. Your support truly makes a difference — not just as a statistic, but to real people in our communities who are facing cancer right now.

Registration costs £20. When you select a Clatterbridge Cancer Charity place, you commit to raising a minimum of £100 in sponsorship. That might sound daunting, but our fundraising team are here to help — with tips, ideas, and support every step of the way.

Emma Rodgers

The Clatterbridge Fairy was specially created by our Charity Patron, internationally acclaimed sculptor, Emma Rodgers.

We asked Emma to share why she's supporting our Fairy Appeal:
"I have been a Patron of Clatterbridge Cancer Charity for 14 years now, as my mum is cared for there. They are incredible with her and getting the 'all clear' was a wonderful moment. They've done more for me than I can ever do for them, so creating the Fairy seems a small thing, really.

And this year I will be dedicating my Fairy to Professor Myint and the Team at Clatterbridge love from Emma, Milly, Annie and family."
