Walk the Wirral coast for Clatterbridge Cancer Charity

The Wirral Coastal Walk is one of the North West’s most-loved community fundraising events — and in 2026 it celebrates its 40th year. Organised by the Rotary Clubs of Wirral, this iconic 20km walk follows the stunning Wirral coastline from New Brighton all the way to Thurstaston, taking in some of the most beautiful scenery the peninsula has to offer.

Whether you walk every step of the 20km route or choose one of the shorter options, every stride you take raises vital funds for Clatterbridge Cancer Charity — supporting cancer patients and their families right across our region.

It’s a great day out for all ages and abilities. Come as an individual, bring the family, or sign up as a team. No experience necessary — just your walking shoes and a willingness to make a difference.

Why We Need Your Help

By taking on this event you are helping us to deliver pioneering cancer care to patients throughout our region. 1 in 2 of us will be affected by cancer, but with your help we can be at the forefront of cancer treatments, and we can fund vital research, the latest therapies, and innovations in cancer treatment.

We are so often told that The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre is unlike any other hospital. The Charity has funded a range of projects which help to to make Clatterbridge a place that stays in people’s hearts, including bringing cancer treatment closer to patients’ homes and breaking boundaries by becoming the first in the UK to offer a number of treatments.

Emma Rodgers

The Clatterbridge Fairy was specially created by our Charity Patron, internationally acclaimed sculptor, Emma Rodgers.

We asked Emma to share why she's supporting our Fairy Appeal:
"I have been a Patron of Clatterbridge Cancer Charity for 14 years now, as my mum is cared for there. They are incredible with her and getting the 'all clear' was a wonderful moment. They've done more for me than I can ever do for them, so creating the Fairy seems a small thing, really.

And this year I will be dedicating my Fairy to Professor Myint and the Team at Clatterbridge love from Emma, Milly, Annie and family."
